Founded in 1995, Fitchburg, Massachusetts-based Resource Management Inc. (RMI) began as a humble father-and-daughter operation with a handful of local clients. Rachel Lopez, President, and CEO started learning the business at age 14. Later, her first job was processing payroll and her experience working in each department gives her unique insight into the organization and fuels her vision for RMI’s future.
Known for her professionalism and passion for the business, Rachel said she and her family take tremendous joy in witnessing the steady growth of the company and the businesses they serve.
Along with her brother Alex Lopez as Vice President, RMI has grown to include thriving offices in Doral and Orlando, Florida. Additionally, RMI now has clients in 38 states and is among the top 50 Hispanic-owned businesses in the United States.
In October 2022 Rachel was recognized with the Latino Excellence Award at an event hosted by the Massachusetts Black and Latino Caucus’ Hispanic Heritage month event.
The Remarkable Act Generosity Behind RMI
RMI’s founder Reinaldo Lopez came to the U.S. with his mother in 1962. Inspired by his mother’s tireless work ethic, Reinaldo followed her lead to create a solid foundation for his family. He worked multiple jobs before owning a janitorial service followed by work as an account executive with an employee leasing firm. Unfortunately, the company he worked for failed to make the necessary payments on behalf of its customers, and many business owners were left hanging. When he left the firm, however, he wanted to make things right for his former clients. To do so, he did something unusual. He vowed to pay whatever was owed in taxes and workers’ compensation using his own money. His former clients, touched by the act of generosity, became the RMI’s first clients.
